The overview
What it does.
Nodelark is a local-first desktop application for remote terminals, desktops, file transfer, and connection management. A keyboard-driven interface keeps sessions, credentials, and configuration together, while an inspector makes inherited settings understandable before a connection starts.
Under the hood
The details matter.
- 01
Connect through SSH and SFTP, launch local terminals, and open VNC or RDP sessions using integrated protocol engines.
- 02
Organize connections with nested folders, tags, favorites, smart groups, saved searches, templates, and bulk edits with undo.
- 03
Inspect seven configuration layers to see the effective value of each setting, where it came from, and what it overrides.
- 04
Keep secret values in the operating-system credential store while the workspace holds opaque references.
- 05
Reject changed host keys and certificates, and evaluate RDP certificate identity before sending credentials.
- 06
Preview imports from Royal TS/TSX documents, SSH configuration, RoyalJSON, and CSV before applying changes.
- 07
Use command-palette navigation, split sessions, detachable windows, and a vault lock shortcut.
